Meet Lizzie and Wendy: ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Hilarious Sister Writing Duo:

Lizzie: I think I always wanted to try to be funny like she was; I’m kind of still trying to do that.
Wendy: And I’m trying to be funny like Lizzie. This sounds like the promising start of a body switching movie. Two sisters, switchin’ bodies – Twisters. In theaters this fall!

Did this pic for an art challenge my friend Liz Ashley Enright did a while back, but just recently got some time to color it while watching silly movies with friends. I had wanted to draw Tina and the [transvestites] for a while and the challenge was the perfect excuse. Love Tina and Marshmallow, so I’m always really glad to see them show up on the show.(via ink-imp-sketch)

This is a clip from the animation production of this week’s episode, “Bob and Deliver.” The animatic is made after the dialog is recorded and the storyboards are drawn, but before the episode is animated and colored. You’ll notice the many non-speaking characters are numbered to identify their characters designs.

In its fourth season, Bob’s Burgers is the most grounded, down-to-earth family sitcom on TV right now, and I say that with full awareness that its past year featured episodes about Thomas Edison’s electrocution of an elephant and a talking electronic toilet (voiced by Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm). But Bob’s is really in the spirit of great Fox animated sitcoms from The Simpsons to King of the Hill; the story of a family (running a shore-town burger joint) whose eccentricities only make it more universal. Fresh and funny, this show has found its voice, even when that voice comes out of a toilet.
